“I have a riddle for you. How can an individual reduce at least half his or her body weight in just one day?
Answer: use a spin bike. How can this be? Answer: When we hold on to anything while engaging in cardiovascular exercise, especially handlebars, we displace at least half our body weight onto our hands. This means our heart is no longer working at the capacity necessary to optimize heart health, brain health, musculoskeletal health, and decrease excess body fat. A 180-pound man essentially becomes a 90-pound man (or less) when he uses a stationary bike, even if he stands on the pedals. He is no longer working his hips, thighs, gluteal muscles, or his core despite what anyone tells him. The lower half of his body is, for all intents and purposes, turned off, yes TURNED OFF. His hands and arms have now taken over, and the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal benefits are virtually eliminated. He is literally “spinning his wheels.” Stationary cycling is NOT an effective cardiovascular exercise. It is NOT a weight-bearing exercise. It is NOT in line with the brilliant design of the human body to stand, walk, and climb on its own two feet without assistance. Stationary cycling of any sort, is, however, a waste of our precious time. These contraptions have been nothing short of a farce for well over a generation. It is time to stop “spinning our wheels” once and for all. It is destroying our health and the ability to become functionally athletic. It is time to step off all indoor bikes for good.” GET A C.L.E.W.
